Peter Max was born in Germany in 1937. He had a very adventurous childhood. His family fled to China in 1938, where they lived for ten years. This decade also brought his love of astronomy into the limelight, and began what many refer to as his "Cosmic 60s" period. Max appeared on the cover of Life magazine in 1969 and also appeared on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson.

The 1970s brought museum exhibits, stamp designs, and a series of Peter Max paintings dedicated to the Statue of Liberty. He used many different mediums to create his original art, including oils, enamels, watercolors, charcoals, pencils, and finger-paints. Neiman worked as an illustrator for department store Carson, Pirie, Scott & Co. in Chicago in the early 1950s alongside a copywriter named Hugh Hefner. After Hefner started Playboy magazine in 1953, Neiman's artwork was featured in several issues. To this day, Neiman continues to illustrate the "Femlin", a Playboy character that is featured every month on the jokes page. Neiman's early success is largely considered to be a direct result of his friendship with Hefner.

LeRoy Neiman continued to win major art awards and wide acceptance with the public. He became famous largely because of highly exposed sports art (in large part due to his association with Playboy magazine) and has opened the doors for other artists in the field. He is considered by many the premier sports artist in the world challenged only in recent years by younger artists Stephen Holland and Richard T. Slone. Neiman produces about six different serigraph subjects a year, generally priced from $3,000 to $6,000 each. Gross annual sales of new serigraphs alone top $10 million. Originals can sell for up to $500,000 for works such as "Stretch Stampede," a mammoth 1975 oil painting of the Kentucky Derby bearing that price tag. In addition to being an internationally renowned sports artist, Neiman has created many works from his experience on safari, including a series of animal portraits that are some of his most sought-after pieces, including "Portrait of the Lion," "Portrait of the Elephant," and "Portrait of the Tiger." Some of his other subjects include sailing, cuisine, golf, boxing, horses, celebrities, famous locations, and the US at play. Much of his work has been done for Playboy Magazine, for which he still illustrates monthly.

Neiman works in oil, enamel, watercolor, pencil drawings, pastels, serigraphy and some lithographs and etching. Neiman is listed in Art Collector's Almanac, Who's Who in the East, Who's Who in American Art, Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the World. His works have been displayed in museums, sold at auctions, and displayed in major galleries. He has begun to join the ranks of artists whose works can command prices over $100,000 for original works. At the December 2003 Christies auction of Playboy archives, his 1969 painting "Man at his leisure: Le Mans" sold for $107,550, a record for his paintings. [1]

Peter Max 1994 World Cup Sculpture

*This is an extremely rare Peter Max Sculpture.  Peter Max was chosen to create the official poster for the 1994 FIFA World Cup. Adorned with vibrant colours - generating the pure emotion of a FIFA World Cup and unmistakeably a Max - the poster depicted a footballer thumping a ball into space. According to the artist, it symbolised the universal attraction of sport, while the pattern was simple and reduced the theme dealt with to its bare essentials.  He created this sculpture at the same time.  An incredible opportunity to own a major piece of Peter Max art.

Jiang Tie Feng oriignal art

Born in 1938 - Chinese Artist Jiang Tie-Feng was born in 1938,in Ningbo, Zhejiiang Province, in China. Even as a child he displayed a great love and talent for painting and drawing, and early on he knew the course his life would take. Jiang's colors are of unsurpassed richness. A colorist, Jiang's intention was to reverse the trend of the stale Chinese tradition of painting in gray, black, and white. Jiang says: "Chinese art had reached a sick level due to its lack of color." Jiang's use of imagery. As noted above, Jiang Tie-Feng is a storyteller. His paintings are steeped in Buddhist and Chinese mythology. Each figure has a symbolic meaning. The paintings have so much complexity and visual fascination that the viewer is constantly seeing something new. Jiang says "For every picture there is a story, and for every story there is a picture." Jiang has continued to grow and expand. Probably because of his personal experience in two cultures he has increasingly seen the world as a single system, as a meeting place of diverse forces.

Zamy Steynovitz the artist

ZAMY STEYNOVITZ:  1951-2000 - Artist Zamy Steynovitz was born in Liegnitz, Poland and immigrated to Israel in 1957. The aspiration to be a painter Stemmed from his childhood, and prior to leaving Poland began his artistic activity in earnest. He established his place in the art world after exhibiting his work in one-man exhibitions and art fairs around the world. Zamy's art displays chromatic and thematic richness. His choice of subjects has been strongly influenced by Jewish tradition and folklore, displaying general themes: Paris, still-lifes, flowers, angels, circuses and landscapes.

M.L Snowden original sculptures have arrived.

M.L. Snowden is the sole living inheritor of select 19th century marble carving, finishing, casting and bronze patination techniques from the Paris studios of Auguste Rodin and Antonin Mercié. M.L. Snowden sculpted alongside her father for seventeen years as an apprentice and as a professional in Snowden Studios. In 1990, M.L. Snowden inherited a collection of 38 of the original sculpting tools from the Rodin Studios. Rodin’s tools were bequeathed to M.L. Snowden’s father by the Swiss sculptor, Robert Georges Eberhard, who was Chairman of the Yale School of Sculpture for almost fifty years and was a professional in Rodin’s studios in the latter part of the 19th century. Eberhard was a mentor to the sculptor’s father, George H. Snowden, N.A. (1901-1990); Who Was Who In American Art. G.H. Snowden was a sculpture educator at Yale University for many years and his extensive list of commissioned sculptures now constitute national historic landmarks. The Smithsonian Institution held a retrospective which featured Snowden sculpture, SCULPTURE IN THE FEDERAL TRIANGLE.  In the year 200 Snowden was commissioned to create the GREAT ANDGELS OF THE MAIN ALTAR fro the $200 Million dollar Los Angeles Cathedral.

Bob Ross original artwork and paintings

A native of Orlando, Florida,  Ross had a 10-year career in the U.S. Air Force keeping medical records.  Ross was living in Florida early in his military career when the Air Force transferred him to Eielson AFB (in Alaska), where he first saw the snow and mountains that later became recurring themes in his artwork; he developed his quick-painting technique in order to be able to create art for sale in brief daily work breaks.  Having held military positions that required him to be, in his own words, "mean" and "tough," "the guy who makes you scrub the latrine, the guy who makes you make your bed, the guy who screams at you for being late to work," Ross decided that if he ever moved on from the military, "it wasn't going to be that way any more," "vowing never to scream again". Ross discovered after beginning his sideline in painting that he was soon able to earn more from selling his work than from his Air Force position. After leaving the Air Force, he studied with Bill Alexander before becoming famous worldwide with his own television program.

Bob Ross had a son, Steven, from his first marriage to Lydia. Steven occasionally appeared on The Joy of Painting and is a Bob Ross–certified instructor. Ross and Lydia's marriage ended in divorce in 1981. Ross married again, this time to Jane. Jane died of cancer in 1993, and Ross himself died of lymphoma in 1995 at the age of 52.

Leonardo Nierman the Artists and his Art

LEONARDO NIERMAN: B. 1932 - Mexican Artist Leonardo Nierman's paintings vibrantly come to life as they capture the intensity and spontaneity of the dynamic forces that rule both nature and the cosmos. With swirling whirlpools of color, darting flame-like wisps, and brilliant hues as dazzling as a sun, they are dramatic in their representation of that which is unchallenged, though perhaps not quite understood. Leonardo Nierman's full career includes numerous distinctions, awards, and exhibitions. He has painted murals for the School of Commerce of the University City in Mexico,1956; the "Golden West Savings" in San Francisco, 1965; and the Princeton University Physics Building,1969. Alexandra Nechita the artist and some original works by Nechita

Alexandra Nechita was born in 1985 and began drawing at the age of two. At seven, she was painting with oils and acrylics, and her first exhibit was a one-woman show held at a Los Angeles public library when she was just eight years old. Alexandra's talent was instantly recognized as crowds came to see her amazing and often monumental paintings. After seeing her art, the press labeled her "The Petite Picasso." Alexandra attracted the attention of art critics and media who began telling the world about this rarest of child prodigies - an artist who had mastered drawing and color, an artist who had created a visual language of her own, in a unique, lyrical, figurative, abstract cubist manner, an artist who had only recently turned nine years old. By age ten, she was producing strikingly accomplished canvases, which were easily compared to the work of talented, fully mature artists. Marcel Mouly the artists and works available

1918-2008 - Artist Marcel Mouly, born in Paris in 1918, is heavily influenced by the work of Picasso, Matisse, and Braque. He studied painting at the French Academies and later became the protogé of the sculptor Jacques Lipchitz, from whom he learned about Cubism. He won the Chevalier de l'Order des Artes et Letteres in 1957, and the Premier Prix de Lithographie in 1973. Mouly has exhibited all over the world and he currently has paintings hanging in the Musee Nationale d' Art Moderne, Paris, the Musée de Geneve and the Bibliotheque Nationale, Paris. Sadly Marcel Mouly passed away on Jan 7th, 2008.

Joan Miro original artwork

JOAN MIRO:  1893-1983 - Spanish Artist Joan Miro studied art at the Barcelona School of Fine Arts and at the Academia Gali. Miro worked as an accountant for nearly two years until he had a nervous breakdown. In the beginning of his career he dabbled in different painting styles that were fashionable at the turn of the century like Fauvism and Cubism. In 1920 Miro made the first of a series of trips to Paris. In 1921 he settled permanently in the French capital. From 1924 on, Miro joined the circle of the Surrealist theorist Andre Breton. By 1930 the artist had developed his own style and in the 1930s the artist's fame and recognition became international. From 1940 to 1948 he was back in Spain. In 1947, Joan Miro came to the United States for the first time. He had several own-man shows. The most important one was a retrospective at the MoMA - The Museum of Modern Art in New York in 1951 and in 1959. In 1954 he won a prize at the Venice Biennale. In 1968 the artist finished a commission for two large ceramic murals at the UNESCO buildings in Paris. Miro was a disciplined, hard working and modest man. He was a dedicated printmaker and his works are highly sought after
