The market has its up and downs in about every sector. In real estae we are currently seeing the market dip and continue to dip. But, when looking at particular properties that are in high demand areas you don't necessarily see them being hit as hard. For instance, there is only so much lake shore property available in a particular area and they can't make more of it. A lot of times we see that properties that are rare and in demand do a much better job of holding their value while the wait for the rebound continues.
The same is true with commodities that have a value. We never sell art as an investments. We sell today's most collected artists at the most competitive prices on the Internet for comparable original pieces. It is a good business model that works for us and allows us to move inventory a little easier and the end buyer to get greater value. Its all about buying it right and marking it up very little so that we can "flip" it fast. If we can make a couple bucks and move onto the next piece we do.
That is why so many people buy art from us. We only carry art that is in high demand. And art that is in high demand becomes rare like lake front property. It is also the more desirable to have. Thus, increasing the odds that you may have a piece that finds it way to your local news as a spectacular buy that yielded a great return. Just like a real estate agent can't guarantee that the short sale lake front property you bought will make you a million dollars we can't say the same. What we can do, is sell you something that has a greater probability to be more than just the beautiful piece you admire in your home.
